So I have been ‘poshing’ a lot this week and I swear it is going to be the death of me. Fall is coming and I am dreaming of sleek jean and boot combos. My favorite brand of shoes and boots is Frye and I have them in many colors, heights and textures. They make me extremely even weirdly happy lol!  What is your favorite boot and how do you wear it? I normally hit up Pinterest when I want to style a new pair of boots they are always spot on. Here are a few of my favs…..

This pair I plan to wear with soft jeans, a GAP tee and a beautiful chocolate brown Coach scarf with lot dangly earrings and flowing locs. The piece de resistance will be my sexy chocolate leather Coach tote that I have carried for years that still gets compliments everywhere I go.

For this pair I have to find boot socks so that I can rock these boots with shorts and a sweater in the beginning of the season. I can also see these being a Sunday go-to Farmer’s Market staple with leggings and a long soft sweatshirt. I also have an old distressed authentic biker jacket that I picked up years ago for $30…A soft tshirt and jeggings makes this the perfect walkabout the neighborhood jacket when the evenings turn crisp.

The Veronica Leather Combat boot is next on my Poshmark list….I lived in combat boots during my Army years and I am still attached to that comfortable, supportive style. This Frye boot is right up my alley and will work great when I am feeling in a distressed denim mood.

Here is a pair that slipped through my fingers. I own this pair of Frye shoes in a lemony yellow, dusky rose pink and a tan pair. Found these on Poshmark but had trouble getting them from the seller but I will not give up these babies need to join her sisters in my closet. I have lots of outfits in mind for this pair. Wish me luck!

Check out Poshmark if you are like me and don’t have the time or patience to break in new boots or shoes. Check out my Posh page…sz 10s are hard to come by https://poshmark.com/closet/tonimc70 The prices really can’t be beat and the customer service is top notch. Don’t take my word for it…check it out yourself ;-)!

The heat has been beating down on our heads all month and as much as I love summer it is wrecking my make up routine. Getting dressed in the morning has become a race to see how fast I can get my make up on before it goes sliding down my face and that is with the a.c. on full blast. I had to come up with a way to keep the make up on my face. I started using Smashbox Camera Ready BB primer to even my skin tone and NYX Shine Killer to combat the oil slick after applying the basics, eyebrows, nude eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick I apply Matte Finish setting spray also from NYX.  This trio holds my make up in place all day and a late afternoon touch up is all I need to look professional and pretty. Best of all these products are affordable and can be found at your favorite Ulta or Sephora. I hope this helps someone out there with similar summer make up blues.

Living in Baltimore is a feast for the eyes. I love taking photos of objects that draw your eye and make you cock your head to the side. So I am going to share a few pics and I hope they are as beautiful to you as they are to me. Most of the photos were taken in neighborhood spots strolling through Canton and Fells Point.

I went on an amazing trip to the Library of Congress with my summer grad class. The library is gorgeous and of course I took a ton of pics some that I will share below. But I have a shopper’s brain so I wanted to see the gift shop. I love infinity scarves and love poetry. I discovered the Poetry Infinity scarf on Etsy a few years ago and knew I would eventually own one. Well the lovely Library had The Romeo and Juliet style and the Jane Eyre style so I bought both of them lol!

I am going to enjoy them once this heat wave is over.

I received my first @ipsy bag in the mail today! It was a great surprise like coming home to a surprise birthday gift. The July bag is full of goodies a full size Tarte blush in Park Ave Princess, an OFRA eyeshadow and highlighter in BLISS. Looking at the package I was surprised to see a 40% online coupon type in the code and you get a discount off your entire purchase. I also received a silky lip balm from be a…..bombshell in Ruby. A nice sheer red that tints the lips and keeps them moist.  An Avene Cleanance soapless cleansing gel will go nicely in my travel bag for weekend getaways. An oval concealer brush for those eyebrows on fleet! Last but not least a 0.8ml rollerball perfume  from Jorel Parker, sweet and floral perfect for summer. The bag is adorable and I look forward to building a collection. Hope you enjoy your #ipsy bag as much as I do. Thanks @ipsy!

I feel so fortunate to meet people who do amazing fun things. During my Master’s residency summer course. I met a classmate Noel B. who runs her own Etsy store! I was so excited to look at her page and loved EVERYTHING! I was not disappointed at all. Delicate handmade glass earrings, layered necklaces and beaded bracelets that go with every outfit any occasion you can think of…perfect for summer! Affordable enough to buy a pair for every girl in your crew. I can see myself wearing these earrings with a short natural haircut. You can chose from a variety of styles and colors. Noel’s site also gives back for every purchase she donates $1 to the Alzheimer’s Association.  If you want to own a pair for yourself or buy a pair for a friend take advantage of this gift from Noel B. Use the code EVERYDAY and receive 15% off just for being a friend of mine. Summer is finally here and out comes the sandals and maxi dresses. However, I have a new obsession….LIMECRIME!!!! Currently on sale on https://www.limecrime.com/lips/ for $10 dollars. I had to get just one more. Love the popping colors and matte look. This amazing matte lipstick goes on wet and dries to a delicious, saturated matte that doesn’t budge until you wash it off. I bought two from Amazon.com and they arrived the next day. I have never been happier with a lipstick and fully intend to buy other colors. Cruelty-free and vegan and very addictive. I decide to feature a photo of two of my friends wearing my favs….Here is Michelle wearing Red Velvet…funny thing she is the lady that introduced me to Limecrime…it looked so amazing on her and lasted through a meal and drinking beverages….she is on trend and I love it! She turned the tables on me and took a photo of my wearing Pink Velvet and I love it even more!

The Original New Orleans Daiquiri
The Original New Orleans Daiquiri

New Orleans in the Fall is a riot of color that stirs the senses. The vibrant red and gold on the cable cars delighted the senses and somber gray of the extravagant grave markers in the local cemeteries made you stop and think about the souls that roamed the area. First stop was Acme house where we at charbroiled oysters that were sinfully good. Full of garlic, herbs and butter…they were charred just enough. When they arrived it was time to pull out the camera and document this adventure. A big bowl of steamy gumbo was the main course and I was in heaven. The gumbo was rich and smoky with tender bits of crab, shrimp and sausage with just enough spice to clear your sinuses. What a happy girl I was! I wanted to make a quick stop in the Lower Garden district to visit Truck Stop Clothing a vintage store that I researched before the trip. I had visions of gently worn in Frye boots, Levi’s and rock T-shirts but it was not going to happen on this trip. The store was closed…completely shut down but still active by phone, Facebook and Yelp….how does that happen? I thought I was nuts as I looked up and down the street for the address and it was nowhere to be found. I finally poked my head into Stein’s Deli where I was informed the store had packed up and move to no one knows where. Huge disappointment…no worries another store was happy to take my money. Magazine Street has funky, hippie , eclectic shops and boutiques and looks to be packed everyday…there were so many people out strolling on Saturday afternoon. I wanted to find a balcony get a fresh drink and pull out the camera. On to the craziest part of NOLA for me…the New Orleans Original Daiquiri’s! We finally went to our Airbnb rental…it was beautiful and decorated antebellum style. The house sits on the sunny side of the street so and the huge porch was perfect for watching the world go by.I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were enough rooms to accommodate six women and our luggage. The sitting room provided a sunny spot for us to share mimosas, beignets, coffee and laughter in the mornings and unwind with our feet up after all day strolling in the Quarter or on Bourbon Street. My friend’s mother made the gumbo to go with our football afternoon and I ended up on the couch in a food coma it was so amazing….full of crab and sausage and okra. It was just the nap I needed ringer me through our French Quarter time 1000th AR night .

Summer left so quickly that I hardly noticed until it was time to pull out the fabulous jackets and the new object of my obsession…..scarves! I am on a quest to find the most beautiful scarves on the Internet planet to jazz up my wardrobe and my mood. From scarves printed with Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe to city scenes of London and Paris.

Etsy stores are the place to go. I am scouring the amazing boutiques in my eclectic neighborhood Canton, Baltimore for the best of the best. I found the perfect cuddly warm infinity scarves on the market today. American Apparel had a sale on their website and in store $14 regular $28. I ordered four and I am over the moon. I choose two popping colors bright red and fluorescent. I also ordered two earthy colors, olive and latte and now I’m happy. So I pinned looks from my fall vision to my Pinterest page I will include the link at the bottom….check it out!IMG_1896.JPG
